After doing a lot of hard work trying to get our garden into shape (and I mean hard work for real – we have been carrying, with the help of our dear friends, almost 20 tonnes of rock, brick and soil over the past 3 days) it is lovely just sitting down for a while and taking your favorite position. Mine is lounging on the couch with absolutely no posture at all, so I’m lucky not many are here to witness it.
Nala also has many favorite positions she likes to relax in. I’ve told you about the belly up position, also featured in a few pictures in the past months, where Nala loves to have her beauty sleep. In addition there is the praying mantis, when she is going cuckoo with delight and extra energy. But what I haven’t featured yet is The Thumper.
When ever Nala wants attention or a bit of scratching, she looks at me or my husband and subtly moves one back leg in the air while sitting down – looking exactly like Thumper from Bambi. Not that I’ve seen Bambi for decades, but Nala managed to dig deep in my memory with this position.
Unfortunately for Nala, she is not in luck with attention this weekend, as it’s once again back to garden work for us, Thumper or no Thumper.

Bummer! Weekends are made for US!
That is true, and I do feel guilty, BUT now that the garden starts looking more appealing, we’ll be spending a lot more time out there which is always nicer for Nala as she gets to observe the squirrels from up close
Adorable Nala!

Thanks Bella and DiDi, I guess everyone needs their signature move
OMG that’s the cutest photo ever! What a well-thought-out signal Nala is giving you!
Haha, you should see her, the gesture is so subtle yet always the same
I have a few other photos of Nala in the exact same position, I’ll be sure to share them
Nala is a card and most deserving of her own blog!
Thank you Parker
